COMMERCIAL EPC/SAP

All new buildings in UK require the input of an energy assessment (SAP) as part of the Building Regulations process.

WHAT IS A COMMERCIAL EPC ASSESSMENT?

An EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) shows the energy efficiency of a building. The building is given a rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient).

WHAT IS A COMMERCIAL SAP ASSESSMENT?

A SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) creates a comparison to a standard building model of a similar design. Compliance is achieved if the design/as-built variables are lower than the standard building variables. The SAP assessment process is split into Design Stage SAPs and As-Built SAPs.

WHY HAVE AN EPC OR SAP?

A relevant EPC document is necessary to sell, rent or lease a commercial property. EPC documents are used to give an indication of the energy performance of the building and compares it to a standard appropriate model and also indicates potential upgrades that may increase the EPC grade. SAP calculations are required to show compliance with relevant Building Regulations Standards of the Authorising Region of the UK.

WHY USE GAP EPC?

All assessments at GAP EPC Ltd are carried out by an experienced, fully certified Architect who can contribute to the design process to obtain the most efficient design solution in terms of energy consumption, while still maintaining the design integrity of the project. The assessor is a member of Elmhurst Accreditation and carries full insurance.
